June is National Safety Month.  Every year, the National Safety Council works with businesses to promote well-being in the workplace.  Custom lapel pins featuring a message of safety can greatly improve work conditions and reduce costly employee injuries.

Ways to Promote Safety in the Workplace

Here are a few ways you can implement and promote a safety program in your business or organization using lapel pins:

  • Have a kickoff party.  Explain the benefits of workplace safety.  Hand out lapel pins that feature your company’s logo or mascot.  Ask employees to promote safety in the workplace and reward those who make it an effort to wear their pins on a daily basis.

  • Hold regular safety meetings and award compliance with lapel pins featuring details about the number of days that were worked without an accident.  These items can be attached to cardstock to make an even bigger impression.

  • Elect safety leaders in each department of your facility.  Design special custom lapel pins that identify these individuals.  Put them in charge of answering questions and following up with employees about safety issues and concerns.

  • Make safety an issue that receives top priority when training new employees.  Include custom lapel pins with orientation materials.  Introduce the employee to the safety leader in their area so they can get acquainted.

Why Use Custom Lapel Pins?

Custom lapel pins with safety messages are very effective in the workplace.  They come in a variety of sizes and shapes which makes it easier for businesses to promote messages of every length.  Companies can include identifying emblems like logos and mascots on their pins and have their choice of colors and styles.  They can attach them to business cards or brochures for maximum impact.  They can use them to educate and promote.  In fact, it is the versatility of custom lapel pins that makes them so popular.

Safety is an issue that should be addressed often in the workplace.  Implementing an Employee Safety Program not only keeps men and women informed, it also gives them something to strive for.  A month or quarter without an accident is beneficial for all parties.  Custom lapel pins featuring safety messages not only serve as a reminder of employer expectations, they help promote wellbeing companywide.
