Fundraiser Lapel Pins Made for Nick’s Fight to Be Healed Foundation
Every day we do our part by aiding our customers with promoting awareness as well as supporting the causes and efforts of many organizations all over the world. Each group or foundation establishes its own value in society by being a voice for those who have gone unheard. Every organization also has its own unique account of what they are fighting for and why. Of all the stories Signature Pins has heard, there are few as moving as the one behind Nick’s Fight to be Healed Foundation Inc.
In June 2008, at the tender age of 12 years old, Nick Cammarata developed a rash that his parents first believed was a harmless allergic reaction. After several unsuccessful trips to the doctor, it was decided that the child should have blood work done. The results of his test could not have more astonishing. Nick was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) by July. His leukemia type, T-Cell, is the hardest form to cure.
Nick received four months of chemotherapy and went into remission. However, he still needed a bone marrow transplant. Though finding a bone marrow donor was successful, Nick passed away in October 2008 from treatment complications.
Through the Foundation Nick’s Spirit Lives On
The mission of Nick’s Fight to be Healed Foundation is to support other pediatric blood cancer patients and serve the young adult blood cancer community. The foundation holds steadfast to its commitment to improve both patients’ and their families’ quality of life by promoting well-being, reducing stress, and providing patients with resources to help lead fun and fulfilling lives. The services available through the foundation include financial support, child life specialist support, comfort bags, and entertainment while patients reside in the treatment center.
Funding is a crucial part of Nick’s Fight to be Healed Foundation’s ability to fulfill its mission, provide its services, and continue “Healing Kids by Having Fun”. This is why it is so important to us that we help not only this foundation but all of our non-profit clients by providing promotional items they can us to raise money for their cause.
