Those of us who were alive to see it will never forget what happened on January 28, 1986. At a mere 73 seconds into its flight, the Challenger space shuttle, carrying seven NASA astronauts, completely disassembled. It was the first time in history that NASA astronauts lost their lives in spaceflight. Today marks 25 years since the devastating incident.

We are taking this time to honor and pay our respects to the fearless men and women that were aboard the Challenger as well as their families, friends and supporters.  Without their sacrifices and willingness to go where few people have gone, we would not be on a path to solving the mysteries surrounding outer space nor the role it plays in our lives.  To them, and many others like them, we owe more gratitude than any of us are able to fully comprehend.

In reverence of the crew members of the Challenger, we say Thank You. Your contribution and living sacrifice will never be forgotten.
