The first official Frisco Colorado BBQ Challenge was held in 1993.  Since then, it has grown by leaps and bounds.  The event has raised more than $500,000 in the last 15 years and provides many local non-profit organizations with consistent avenues of fundraising.  Through a successful marketing campaign and custom lapel pins, the annual event has increased its visitor attendance and become an important part of the city’s event calendar.  The next year’s cook-off takes place June 14th through the 16th.

The Colorado BBQ Challenge competition pits teams of pit masters against each other in 10 different categories.  Competitors can barbecue:

  • Brisket
  • Pork
  • Ribs
  • Chicken
  • Anything Goes
  • Sides
  • Desserts
  • Sauces
  • Salsa

Each team competes for the coveted Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion titles as well.

December 12th, 2011 kicks off the process for the Annual BBQ Challenge.  Volunteer applications are due by January 3rd, 2012.  For every application submitted, a lapel pin is given to the members of each team to wear.  This adds a positive element to the event and makes all participants feel like a winner no matter how they place.  The pins also serve as viable marketing tools by appealing to members of the community and encouraging them to attend the exciting event.

Volunteers and Judges can wear a lapel pin to show that they are part of this great celebratory event.  Acting as pieces of identification, these pins are dually effective.  They help participants in the event locate the people in charge of set-up and scoring as well as serve as cherished keepsakes for everyone that they are handed out to.  Who doesn’t like to receive a gift as a thank you for donating their time to an event?

If you have an annual celebration that draws a crowd to your community, why not recognize it with custom lapel pins?  It worked for the Frisco Colorado BBQ Challenge who saw an increase in attendance the past year.  Custom lapel pins are real crowd pleasers and effective marketing tools.  Get your hands on your very own pins by visiting https://signaturepins.com/ today.  You can request a free quote and receive more information about the styles and pricing that we offer.  You can also email info@signaturepins.com and call 1-800-480-6822 toll-free with any questions you might have.
