How many of you are aware that jump rope competitions are thriving across the US?  That’s right!  Jump rope is no longer just for the backyard or the neighbor park.  It’s a serious sport that has even been featured on shows like America’s Got Talent. Athletes compete in individual and team events using single ropes or Double Dutch.  In freestyle routines, jumpers have a specific timeframe to demonstrate their skills.  They are judged in four categories.  They are footwork, strength, multiple unders, and rope manipulations.  The routines performed are usually set to music.

The FISAC-IRSF World Jump Rope Championships are held in July every other year.  Each event is hosted in a different city.  In 2006, it was in Toronto, Canada.  In 2008, it was held in Cape Town, South Africa.  In 2010, it was in London England.  Jump roping competitions are held worldwide.  Custom lapel pins unique to each team are created as a way of breaking the ice at tournaments as well as to give competitors a sense of pride in the sport.

The pins pictured here are two examples of the different styles that we offer.  One has glitter on it as well as a dangling charm stating the year that it was created—2010.  The other has an image of jump ropers in action.  An image or photograph like this helps others know exactly what sport you are participating in or supporting.
